Pesa partners with Hitachi to build and service high-speed trains in Poland

Polish train manufacturer Pesa Bydgoszcz has agreed with Hitachi to participate in assembling high-speed trains, service them for 30 years, and receive a technology transfer including aluminium welding techniques. CEO Krzysztof Zdziarski says the deal is designed to raise the competitiveness of the Polish manufacturer. The partnership is part of broader plans to modernise Poland's rail network.
