Withdrawing From a Deceased Person's Bank Account Can Be Treated as Fraud

After a bank account holder dies, the account is frozen and access to funds is governed by inheritance law in Poland. Family members cannot freely withdraw money — doing so may be treated as theft or fraud. Legal access to funds requires completing probate proceedings or having a pre-arranged death disposition (a bank legacy instruction) set up by the deceased.
