Stephen Colbert Writing New Lord of the Rings Film Featuring Frodo
Late-night TV host Stephen Colbert has been confirmed as the writer of a new Lord of the Rings film. The project is based on an early chapter of The Fellowship of the Ring and will retell an important part of the story featuring Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Meriadoc Brandybuck, and Peregrin Took, set roughly a quarter-century before Peter Jackson's trilogy. The announcement is among the most surprising in Hollywood over the past year.
