Former Chinese official sentenced to death for over 2 billion yuan in bribes

Yang Youlin, a former official from the Chinese city of Nanjing, has been sentenced to death for accepting bribes worth more than two billion yuan. The corruption spanned 30 years, from 1993 to 2023. The sentence was reported by China's state news agency Xinhua.
