Ex-Syrian Intelligence Chief Convicted of Torture and Sexual Abuse in Austria

An Austrian court in Vienna has found a former Syrian intelligence chief guilty of torture and sexual abuse committed against opponents of Bashar al-Assad's regime. Two former Syrian officials faced trial over crimes carried out against the dictator's enemies. The case is one of very few successful international prosecutions for crimes committed by the Syrian regime.
