Rutte demands 5% of GDP on defence; Europe already near 4%

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced Monday that European nations and Canada have raised defence spending to around 4% of GDP. He called on allies to push further, to 5% of GDP. The statement came ahead of the NATO summit in Ankara, which opened on Tuesday.
