Trump confirms call with Infantino over Balogun red card, denies asking for reversal

President Donald Trump confirmed he called FIFA president Gianni Infantino to discuss the red card shown to US striker Folarin Balogun, calling it a "horrible" decision, but denied requesting it be overturned. Balogun's suspension was ultimately lifted. Belgium, the US's quarter-final opponent, branded the decision "incomprehensible" and "a blatant violation of the most basic rules of football and sport."
