Collapse of AMOC ocean current may already be inevitable, scientists warn

Scientists warn that the collapse of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC), the ocean current responsible for keeping Europe's climate warm, may already be locked in. Whether it shuts down depends on carbon emissions and the rate of Greenland ice melt, but researchers say a tipping point may have already been passed.
