Eala beat Świątek but lost to Paolini in Wimbledon quarter-finals

Alexandra Eala of the Philippines stunned Iga Świątek at Wimbledon but could not advance further, losing to Jasmine Paolini 4:6, 6:4, 3:6 in the quarter-finals. The 25-year-old Eala had been due to play for her first ever Grand Slam quarter-final spot after her upset win over the Polish player on Saturday. Świątek's early exit meant Paolini took over her scheduled slot in the draw.
