Microsoft lays off 4,800 employees — over 30% from Xbox division

Microsoft announced 4,800 layoffs at the start of its new financial year, with more than 30% of the cuts coming from the Xbox division. Four game studios are being spun off to operate independently from Microsoft. The cuts affect nearly every part of Xbox's operations.
