Apple Extends Broadcom Chip Deal to 2031 as Own Modem Switch Still Years Away
Apple has signed a deal extending its partnership with Broadcom for radio chips through 2031. This indicates the company's full switch to its own cellular modems will take at least five more years, even though the first in-house chips are expected to debut in the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Ultra. The new agreement suggests Apple does not expect to complete the transition before 2031.
