Mercedes Baby G-Class to Be Built in Hungary, Not Germany, to Cut Costs

Mercedes-Benz will produce its new compact G-Class SUV at its expanded Hungarian plant rather than in Germany, in a cost-cutting move. The Hungary facility is set to nearly double its capacity and become the largest Mercedes plant in Europe. Production is set to begin next year, with hybrid and fully electric powertrains on offer; an EV-only plan was dropped as electric demand cooled.
