Kadyrov Nominated by United Russia for Chechen Leadership

Ramzan Kadyrov, one of Vladimir Putin's closest allies, was on Monday nominated by the United Russia party as a candidate for the head of the Chechen Republic. Kadyrov claimed he was "forced" to take part in the elections. Parliamentary elections in the Russian Federation are scheduled for September 20, 2026.
