Lithuania moves firing range away from Polish border after local protests
Residents of the Podlaskie villages of Budwieć and Stanowisko protested against Lithuanian plans to build a military training range just 500 metres from the Polish border, with a live-fire zone extending into Polish territory. Following talks with Lithuania's defence ministry, authorities assured locals that the firing range would be moved further from the border. Residents called the development a "positive surprise."
