Germany blocks fast expansion of Eastern Railway line to Polish border

Germany's transport ministry says it sees no need to fast-track the expansion of the Eastern Railway (Ostbahn) from Berlin towards Kostrzyn nad Odrą on the Polish border, according to the dpa agency. Cross-border regional authorities on both sides have been pushing for accelerated work for years. Berlin's reluctance is hampering rail connectivity between the two countries.
