AfD leader Weidel distances herself from party's pro-traditional-family manifesto
Alice Weidel, leader of the far-right Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), has publicly distanced herself from her party's Saxony-Anhalt election manifesto, which explicitly promotes the traditional family model. Weidel, who is in a same-sex partnership, stated: "They can write what they want. I live differently." Her comment has exposed internal tensions within AfD over social and cultural policy.
