Brazil were eliminated in the round of 16 of the World Cup, losing to Norway in what journalist Tim Vickery describes as "an unmitigated disaster". The defeat was not a matter of bad luck — Brazil clearly lag behind the elite and need major squad surgery. The question now is whether coach Carlo Ancelotti is the right man to lead that rebuild.
