New Horizons probe may reach the solar system's edge as early as 2029

Scientists estimate that the New Horizons spacecraft will reach the heliospheric termination shock — the boundary of the Sun's influence — sometime between 2029 and 2040. Pinpointing the exact date is difficult due to variable conditions in the outer heliosphere. The mission is expected to deliver rare data on the edge of the solar system.
