Pope Leo XIV began his summer holiday on 5 July at Castel Gandolfo near Rome, staying at the Apostolic Palace, as confirmed by the Prefecture of the Papal Household. The town is a popular tourist destination, but the papal residence will remain closed to visitors throughout July. Castel Gandolfo has long served as the traditional summer retreat for popes.
