Brazil exit World Cup in last 16 – no title since 2002

Brazil have been eliminated in the round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup, losing 1–2 to Norway. The Seleção, the only nation to have played in all 23 World Cup finals tournaments, have now gone over 24 years without a world title, their last coming in 2002. They remain the most decorated team in World Cup history with five championships.
