Neurosurgeons billed short procedures as costly operations — NFZ and prosecutors investigate

Hospitals in several Polish provinces may have paid a neurosurgeons' company up to 26,000 zł per hour and over 300,000 zł per single day. Wirtualna Polska reports the doctors performed short procedures but billed them as far more expensive operations. Both the prosecutor's office and the National Health Fund (NFZ) are now investigating.
