Burnham renationalised Manchester's buses — and won voters over

Andy Burnham, as Mayor of Greater Manchester, brought the city's bus network back under public control, increased service frequency and capped fares. The transport reform became one of his signature achievements and a key plank of his campaign to lead the UK. The bee-branded buses and trams became symbols of his political identity.
