Expert: Poland turned doctors into entrepreneurs, breaking the healthcare system
Health policy expert Dr Maria Libura warns that long specialist waiting lists, indebted hospitals, doctors working hundreds of hours a month and children waiting for psychiatric help are symptoms of a deep structural crisis. She argues that the state has for years turned doctors into entrepreneurs at the expense of the public system, and describes healthcare as critical national security infrastructure in urgent need of reform.
