Ukrainians living in Poland pay taxes at home and risk fines from Polish tax authorities

Thousands of Ukrainian citizens living in Poland and working remotely for Ukrainian employers mistakenly believe that paying taxes in Ukraine settles their obligations entirely. Under Polish tax law, however, their Polish tax residency may expose them to additional liabilities. Legal expert Dr Kinga Piwowarska highlights the issue in Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, warning of potential financial consequences for those unaware of the rules.
