Fake Deposit Stickers on Bottles Used to Defraud Polish Recycling Machines

Fraudulent stickers imitating deposit-scheme markings have appeared in Poland, allowing people to claim refunds from reverse vending machines for bottles not covered by the deposit system. Police officer Łukasz Mituła commented: "Polish ingenuity is beautiful — it's a shame it so often starts with the question: can this be scammed?" Law enforcement has flagged the new scheme.
