Polish teachers' union ZNP announces August protest, demands permanent pay mechanism
Sławomir Broniarz, head of the Polish Teachers' Union (ZNP), has announced an August demonstration in front of the Prime Minister's Chancellery in Warsaw. Teachers are demanding that a permanent pay-rise mechanism be written into law, accusing PM Donald Tusk of breaking earlier commitments. "We are disappointed – if the prime minister makes declarations and then fails to honour them, there is little room for enthusiasm," Broniarz said.
