Gaza hospital director Hussam Abu Safia near death after 555 days in Israeli prison

Hussam Abu Safia, the director of a Gaza hospital who has been held in an Israeli prison for more than 555 days, is in a life-threatening condition, according to a human rights group. His son Elyas Abu Safia said his father can barely breathe or speak. The case has raised serious concerns about the treatment of the detainee.
