Inheritance reserve in Poland: how much can children claim if excluded from a will?

Polish law provides for a statutory reserved share (zachowek) that protects children omitted from a parent's will. An entitled descendant can claim half the value of the share they would have received under intestate succession — or two-thirds if they are a minor or permanently incapacitated. The claim for the reserved share becomes time-barred five years after the will is announced or the estate is opened.
