Ultrasound technique reads brain intentions non-invasively, Caltech study shows
Researchers at Caltech developed a less-invasive method to decode the brain's intentions using functional ultrasound imaging, avoiding the need for surgically implanted electrodes. Published in 2021, the study demonstrated that movement intentions could be read with high accuracy through the skull. The technique could pave the way for a new generation of brain-computer interfaces accessible to more patients.
