Giant hogweed burns through clothing — avoid it on walks
Giant hogweed (Barszcz Sosnowskiego) is an invasive plant whose sap causes severe chemical burns even through clothing after just a brief accidental contact. Exposure combined with UV light leads to blisters and long-lasting skin damage. The plant is especially dangerous in summer when it grows to its full height.
