A24 horror "Backrooms" hits $330M globally, now streaming on HBO Max

A24 have been consistently breaking their own record for highest-grossing movie over recent years, with the latest to do so fittingly from the horror genre. The viral horror triumph Backrooms , which is directed by 21-year-old filmmaker Kane Parsons , flew out of the gates and to the top of the box office charts, with Parsons becoming the youngest director ever to claim the #1 spot at the North American box office in the process. The film's presence in theaters may have since quietened, but its current haul of $330 million is $129 million higher than second place.
