Włodarczyk sets season best in Eugene, world champion Rogers beaten in final throw

Anita Włodarczyk improved her season best in the hammer throw at the Diamond League meeting in Eugene, Oregon, as the only European athlete in the field. Nearly 41 years old, the Polish world-record holder stayed in contention throughout and ultimately saw world champion Camryn Rogers of Canada defeated in the final round. A week earlier, Włodarczyk had competed in Poznań to honour the memory of her late coach Czesław Cybulski.
