Pope Leo XIV congratulates Americans on 250th anniversary of independence

Pope Leo XIV, the first American-born pope, sent a congratulatory letter to Americans marking the 250th anniversary of US independence. He recalled that respect for the dignity of every human life – including that of immigrants – is among the founding principles that guided the development of the United States.
