Editor's note: The below contains spoilers for The Bear Season 5. When The Bear began airing its first season in 2022, the streaming series felt like an independent movie. The scrappy, inventive filmmaking was done creatively on a smaller budget, and the majority of the show’s stars were actors who had not yet been given their big break, even though Jeremy Allen White , Ebon Moss-Bachrach , and Ayo Edebiri had been doing solid work before. Cameos have been integral to The Bear since its inception, but not all of them have been necessary . Although there’s nothing wrong with hiring great actors to fill important roles, two seasons of The Bear featured an abundance of cameos that were included for their own sake.
