German volleyball squad shuts door on 26-year-old star after Winiarski's decisions
Michał Winiarski stepped down as Germany's volleyball coach in autumn 2025 after leading the team to qualification for the Paris Olympics. Before leaving, he controversially excluded one of the squad's top stars from the Olympic tournament and then again from subsequent squads. It has now emerged that the rift between the 26-year-old player and the coaching staff was deep enough to effectively end his international career with Germany.
