Poland managed Gdańsk conference well but Ukraine row exposed diplomatic weakness

The Ukraine recovery conference in Gdańsk took place against the backdrop of a dispute over the Order of the White Eagle and President Zelensky's absence. Dr Małgorzata Bonikowska, president of the Centre for International Relations, says Poland managed the crisis adequately but projected an image of an internally divided country to the world. She argues Poland consistently fails to convert its real geopolitical strength into actual influence, especially with its key neighbour Ukraine.
