Istanbul becomes mafia hub: TikTok recruitment, drugs and murders

Turkey, once mainly a transit country for drugs between Asia and Europe, is increasingly becoming a hub for organised crime. Istanbul serves as a meeting point for crime bosses from the Balkans, Russia and the Caucasus, while local gangs recruit teenagers via TikTok. The line between the underworld, politics and the state is growing ever thinner.
