Shahed-136 drone: Iran's cheap weapon threatening costly Western air defences

Iran's Shahed-136 drones, dubbed "poor man's cruise missiles," are cheap, simple to build and suited for mass production. Professor Ali Bagheri Dolatabadi of Yasouj University calls them "the democratisation of precision strike." Their mass deployment threatens to make the production of expensive Western air-defence systems economically unviable.
