AfD Opens Federal Congress, Eyes Solo Government in Germany

Germany's Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) opened its federal congress in Erfurt. Co-leader Tino Chrupalla declared the party could soon govern Germany alone. Thousands of protesters attempted to block access to the venue, but proceedings began on schedule.
