In 1946, eight-year-old Henio Błaszczyk went missing in Kielce for two days. Upon returning home, he told his father — apparently out of fear of punishment — that Jews had abducted him. That false claim triggered the Kielce pogrom, the deadliest antisemitic massacre in post-war Poland.
