80 years after the Kielce pogrom: fake news remains just as dangerous
On 4 July 1946, a pogrom in Kielce, Poland — sparked by a false rumour of a child abduction — claimed the lives of 42 Holocaust survivors. Marking the 80th anniversary, Professor Stanisław Krajewski told PAP that today's society is no more resistant to disinformation than it was eight decades ago. He warned that the thin barrier separating coexistence from violence in human relations remains as fragile as ever.
