EKUZ health card gives free medical care across Europe – here's how to get one

Poland's National Health Fund (NFZ) is reminding travellers ahead of the summer holiday season about the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC/EKUZ), which entitles holders to state healthcare in EU countries and several other European nations on the same terms as local residents. The card is free and can be obtained online, by phone or at an NFZ branch in a straightforward process. It is available to anyone covered by Polish health insurance.
