Sydney records hottest June since 1859 in sign of global warming
Australia's Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that Sydney's mean temperature in June 2026 reached 16.1°C, breaking the all-time record of 15.7°C set in 1991. Records at Observatory Hill date back to 1859. Scientists warn that such unusual warmth during a winter month is a clear "signature" of global warming.
