80th anniversary of Kielce pogrom: around 40 Jews killed a year after WWII
In July 1946, more than a year after the end of World War II, a mob in the Polish city of Kielce killed around 40 Jews, including Holocaust survivors. The violence was sparked by a false accusation of ritual child murder. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the pogrom.
