Everest's "Green Boots" Identified as Dorje Morup — Retrieval Mission Launched
The body known as "Green Boots," a grim landmark on Everest at around 8,500 metres for nearly 30 years, has been identified through DNA testing as Dorje Morup, a soldier who died in a 1996 disaster. India's Indo-Tibetan Border Police has issued a tender to retrieve his remains from the mountain. The mission would be one of the highest-altitude body recoveries ever attempted.
