Turkey Bars Virgin Voyages Ship Carrying 2,000 Mostly Gay Passengers
Turkey banned Virgin Voyages' cruise ship Scarlet Lady from its ports while it was carrying around 2,000 mostly gay passengers. Broadway star Patti LuPone was on board and responded: "I am furious, but I am sailing." The ban was attributed to Turkey's Islamist government.
