French heatwave: crowds storm shops for fans and air conditioners

Ahead of another heatwave, French shoppers rushed to stores to buy fans and air conditioners, causing scuffles and chaos. In Nanterre, more than a hundred people forced their way in by breaking down the entrance doors. Shelves stocked with cooling devices were emptied within minutes.
