SQM-Codelco venture plans to boost Chile lithium output by over 70%

Chilean mining giants SQM and Codelco are mapping out a plan to boost lithium output at their joint venture by more than 70%. The move is a long-term bet on surging battery demand driven by electric vehicles and consumer electronics. Chile is one of the world's largest lithium producers.
