Rescue mission to boost NASA's Swift telescope launched on 3 July

NASA's Swift space telescope, which has operated for over two decades, is gradually losing altitude and nearing the end of its mission. On 3 July, a rescue satellite was launched with the goal of rendezvousing with Swift and boosting its orbit, potentially extending its operational life. If successful, the mission would allow Swift — a key instrument for observing gamma-ray bursts — to continue science operations for years to come.
