France Heatwave: 2,025 Excess Deaths Recorded in Hottest Week of Record June

France's public health authority reported that the number of deaths surged by 29.1% — equivalent to 2,025 excess deaths — during the hottest week of a record-breaking June heatwave that scorched much of Europe.
